In January we held our third TNZ Junior Worlds Training Squad Camp in Tauranga. We had 21 Junior’s attend this camp.
With early morning training, mid day trainings and evening trainings these young athletes were exhausted by the end of each day and all slept very well each night.
We were lucky enough to call on some experienced people to offer their expertise.
I would like to thank the following people who gave up their time and travelled to Tauranga to help with our camp.
Vaughn Scott, Master Angela Caldwell, Grand Master Oh, Master Kesi O’Neill, Doctor Bren and Jan Dorman.
Each day we covered a lot of drill, skill and pad work along with technique.
We were lucky enough to have Grand Master Rawlins, his Aussie members and Master Kesi’s Development Camp Crew also attend our camp, so we had about 80 participants overall on the Sunday. What an amazing day that was and a great experience for our Junior’s to be able to work with some international talent.
We are getting close to the selection of our Junior Team and we wish all of the athlete’s well in this process.
I would also like to thank Garry & Lee Carpenter for the use of their Do-jang once again, and also Master Matt Ransom for taking the time to call in on the camp and chat to our Juniors. Also thanks to Fitco Gym on 13th Ave for the use of their facilities.
