TNZ Athlete Development Officer and TNZ Strength & Conditioning Trainer

Taekwondo New Zealand is pleased to announce the appointment of two new key positions;

• TNZ Athlete Development Officer -  Tim Urquhart and 

• TNZ Strength & Conditioning Trainer - Seth Lenetsky.

Both Tim and Seth are already well known to many of our athletes and members due to their work alongside our junior & senior teams in recent years.

Tim is the current NZ Team Manager for the upcoming Pacific Games and has previously officiated as a trainer and coach at international WTF events for TNZ including World Para Championships, Oceania Championships and Junior World Championships. He also holds a Bachelor of Sport & Recreation. In this role Tim will work in conjunction with the TNZ Kyorugi & Poomsae Administrators and our national team coaches & trainers. He will assist with the development of overall coaching strategies for our national squads, help to identify new talent at tournaments, with a special focus on rising cadet & junior athletes, and will liaise with athletes and TNZ team officials.       

Seth brings with him extensive high performance fitness training experience which has included work with our previous Olympians and most recently the Pacific Games team. He is a certified fitness trainer with a Graduate Certificate in Sport & Recreation and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Sport & Exercise. He has also worked with amateur boxing, Counties Manukau Rugby Union and Emirates Team New Zealand. Also working in conjunction with the TNZ Kyorugi & Poomsae Administrators, the Athlete Development Officer and our national team coaches & trainers Seth will be supervising the strength and fitness development of athletes on our national squads. This will include supporting athletes regarding their fitness related aims, trainings and diets.
