TNZ Seminar -Auckland- 3rd and 4th November 2012

12 Nov. 2012 Posted by Garry Carpenter

The final TNZ training seminar of the year focused on the TNZ National Representative Team which will be competing at the 2012 WTF Oceania Championships in December. With a squad of 32 competitors it was the last opportunity to get the team together to finalise competition strategies and add the finishing touches to the team’s preparation.
Held at Avondale College Gymnasium in Auckland on the 3rd & 4th November, the team trained under Grandmaster Oh, Master Kesi O’Neill and Gina Guo for Kyorugi and Masters Ivan Kim and Alex Ahn for Poomsae. Team trainers, Filo Tiumalu and Tim Urquhart provided further support with Garry Carpenter and Master Brian Lim also contributing with a session on the Daedo system for the Kyorugi Athletes. The NZ Team Doctor, Bren Dorman and Female Team Medic Jan Serra were on hand to check the athletes and Bren ran a session on health and training.
The TNZ development seminar series held this year has been a success. There will be more of these held next year to keep this momentum going and as a build-up to a number of key international events. Some will form part of the ongoing national team selection process. Please keep an eye on our website for announcements. Member organisations will also be kept informed so they can advise members ahead of these seminars to allow time for planning.
We would like to thank all presenters who gave up their time this year to help run these seminars and those members who attended. We wish the TNZ National Representative Team a successful Oceania Championships.
