New TNZ Appointments


Taekwondo New Zealand is pleased to announce the appointment of it’s newly created High Performance Directors positions for the ongoing management and development of Kyorugi and Poomsae in New Zealand.
Master Ivan Kim has been appointed High Performance Director - Poomsae. Master Kim is a WTF International Poomsae Judge and has previously coached the TNZ National Poomsae Team at the World Poomsae Championships, Hanmadang and three Oceania Championships.
Master Kesi O’Neill has also been appointed as the High Performance Director – Kyorugi. Master O’Neill coached Samoa in the Taekwondo event at the 2012 London Olympics and the TNZ National Kyorugi Team at the 2012 Oceania Championships and has many years previous experience as an internationally experienced coach.
Masters Kim and O’Neill met with a number of TNZ officials in Auckland on the 23rd February to establish a new long term strategy for our National Kyorugi Representative Teams, Both will also be liaising closely with National Team Coaches and Management on an ongoing basis. Further details regarding selection criterias and target-events for both teams will be advised shortly. Please keep an eye on our website for more information.
Other appointments have been Master Mark Hall as Senior Male Team Coach and Gina Guo as Senior Female Team Coach for the national representative team to compete at the 2013 WTF World Championships in Mexico coming up in July.
Master Hall has previously trained the TNZ National Junior Team at the 2006 Junior World Championships and the 2006/2008 Oceania Championships. Gina coached the Junior Female Team at the 2012 Junior World Championships and the National Kyorugi Team at the 2012 Oceania Championships.
