TNZ Kyorugi Referee & Poomsae Judge Certification Seminars

25 Mar. 2013 Posted by Garry Carpenter

Skilled refereeing and judging is a fundamental requirement for strong domestic competition which TNZ sees as a foundation element needed for international competitiveness. TNZ is pleased to announce the following Kyorugi Referee & Poomsae Judge Certification Seminars for  2013. Please note that this year all existing TNZ Kyorugi Referee certificates will expire. Current TNZ Kyorugi Referees will need to sit the refresher portion of the seminar in order to continue officiating. These courses ensure a consistent and high level of skill, and also provides a pathway for officials to progress from national level through to International Referees and Judges.

2013 Dates and locations:
26th April – Auckland
31st May - Tauranga
21st June - Christchurch
9th August - Wellington
4th October - Auckland
TNZ will send out notifications in advance for each seminar confirming dates, times, venues and further details, These certification courses will be held the day before a scheduled TNZ Tournament or a TNZ Member Organisation Tournament. This allows the candidates to immediately apply what they have learnt at an actual tournament under the continued supervision and evaluation of the seminar presenters. Please see our Events page for further details. Start times will generally be at 9am for both Kyorugi and Poomsae, with a 1pm start for those attending the refresher course and a 4pm finish time for everyone. Please note, the first seminar for this year is being held the day before the TNZ Open.
Please keep an eye on the TNZ website for further details and ensure your members are aware of this.
Thank you.
